One in three sick leaves in Chile is now mental health.

In 2025, mental and behavioural disorders accounted for 30.9% of all medical certificates issued in Chile, nearly double the second cause. The figure says less about Chile than about everywhere else: mental health has moved out of the HR benefits budget and into occupational health and safety, with a documented assessment, a validated instrument and an inspector.
